Up in the Air

This weekend I went flying with my roommate Ben. I’ve always flown commercially so this was a completely new experience. One that I really enjoyed. At first I was a bit nervous being in such a small contained plane but eventually was able to relax and enjoy the ride.
We were on route to Shelter Cove to land and play the local golf course. However the summer Bay Area fog was too thick so we changed route and ended up in the Small town of Garberville. The airport was super small and located in the mountains. The town was about 3 miles away from the airport so we hitch hiked a ride into town. We found a mom and pop burger restaurant where there were some cool cars parked and refreshing milkshakes. After lunch we hitch hiked back to the airport and cruised the sky.
Aviation is really cool! I’ve decided in 4 years for my 30th birthday present to myself, I’m gong to take up Aviation and learn to fly. I might even take it up sooner :) There are a lot of adventures to be had in the sky and I’m lucky to know a few friends and family members who have been trained and can share this experience with me.
