This example is affectionately known as “The Lost Level.”

9.  The Fish House and Castle Tower allowed the player to uncover creative ways to move around.  The Slide was a rush, and punted you into rides and the back half of the scene.  The Tower fired you out of its windows like a cannon ball, and the Fish House would fall apart piece by piece.

10.  Whether in the tracks or riding the ship, the Roller Coaster was a good place to be.  Players could grind on the tracks and get plenty of momentum once hit by the ride itself.

11.  Save the Clock Tower... Or not.  Players could tear down this tower part by part.  It would also be cool to have a giant creature on it like the crocodile in the movie Hook.

12.  If you like spicy food, you’ll love the Ring of Fire.  This ride allowed players to grab it and go for a roundabout ride.  Players could test themselves to see how long they could go round and round on the ride before it flung them back out into the scene.

13.  The Pirate Projects where the base structures that surrounded the second tier.  Every door and window was interactive to the player.  Many of the elements that made up these structures where dynamic.  Explosives where placed in areas that had less interactivity.

14.  Boulders and Rain Pipes where placed on the third tier.  Depending on the Rain Pipe a player entered, they would be spat out onto another tier, or out through the eye of a giant skull.  They could also get Boulders to be launched out from them as well.

15.  Hurl if you get into the Tilt-A-Hurl.  While a cool interactive ride, it was always frame rate heavy with camera issues.  However, a few skeletons of past riders made it worth it.

16.  The Supply Lift to the top allowed players to grab a lift and ride it all the way to the top of the third tier.  Once there they could tumble down the mountain to their hearts content.

This was my favorite prototype.  It ran at 60 frames a second when textured and had some of the best flow in PAIN.  It inspired many of the level designs, gameplay, and assets that appear today in the released levels of PAIN.
