The Hoff Strikes Back
The Hoff is back! This time, he’s a 3D rag-doll character for the game PAIN. Players will be able to strike Hasselhoff into explosive crates and hurt the Hoff as much as they’d like in any on the PAIN Levels. Sony and Idol Minds have been working hard to get a celebrity in PAIN. After many revised contracts and settlements, PAIN is finally getting it’s most unique downloadable character yet. The Hoff will be available for download in November from the PlayStation Network Store.
From the very first celebrity character discussions at Idol, Hasselhoff was by far the most popular. Being yonger than most of the development team, I’d barely heard of David Hasselhoff and initially didn’t share the same excitment. However, PAIN is not a traditional game and it continues to do the unexpected. The expected would have been to use Paris Hilton. Therefore, I think Hasselhoff was a good choice to have as the first celebrity character in PAIN. I hope everyone who downloads him will have the painfully entertaining time that the entire Idol Minds team has experienced by integrating The Hoff into our unique game.
