GDC 2010

Another year another GDC.  This year there was a record number of attendees. However it did not feel that way.  Moscone West was not in use at all so the whole conference took place in the North and South convention centers.  I preferred this because it was easier to get from session to session.

During the downtime I helped out at the Telltale booth and got to meet a few new developers.  Telltale is hiring a full team!

Having to complete work on a simple prototype game I didn’t get to attend the full conference, but I did get to see a few of my old friends and attend a few parties.  I ran into my buddy Shaddy, a Concept Artist at Naughty Dog, and we caught up over some drinks.  Telltale had a party at the Cartoon Art Museum this year.  Steve Purcell was there to inform the public that Sam and Max Season 3 is to be released soon.

The highlight of this years GDC was running into Greg Zeschuck.  He is one of the cofounders of Bioware.  They make some of my favorite games including the best RPG’s on the market.  I think Bioware and Blizzard are tied in my book.  I got my picture taken with him and let him know how great Mass Effect 2 was.

In short GDC went by super fast and I really enjoyed catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.
