July 31, 2008
4th of July 2008
The 4th is long gone and this blog entry is way to late. As the saying goes, “better late than never.” For this years celebration I had a some friends over to drink, BBQ, and watch fireworks. Every year the Louisville Firework show is held at the Coal Creek Golf Course. Since my place is within walking distance to the course, it was a short stumble.
I have never experienced fireworks so close. The pyrotechnics exploded right above everyones heads in the sky. They were so close that the air rained a small amount of ash down. While this was exciting, a small piece of flaming ash floated down about 8 feet in front of where my friends and I where sitting. The ash caught fire to one of the blankets. Luckily the fire was smothered and no one was hurt.
After the show we all went back to my place and drank until we sobered up, lol. It was a memorable 4th and I hope next year will be just as memorable.
Cheers!
:)
