Street Sesh
As a design test, I was asked to re-design this Flash based skating game developed by Etnies. You can play the original game at Addicted Games. Clown Toss
I will always remember late nights at Idol, throwing Spunky the Clown into explosive barrels and getting rewarded with Pimp Slaps for doing so. Clown Toss was the first game I developed as a designer on PAIN. The game is single player experience in which a player is timed on how fast they can toss Spunky into a collection of explosive barrels. Four increasingly difficult levels await the player. Clown Toss is for advanced players with the competitive drive to clime online leaderboards.

Mad Science!
Are you mad enough for this chemically mind altering mode? Then download the PAIN Sore Spots expansion pack and go to town. This single player mode takes place in Morningwood High. The goal of the game is simple, explode all the chemicals in the scene. However, only different color combinations of chemicals will react with each other. It is your job as the player to mix these chemicals together correctly so that they explode in the least amount of time. Good luck and try not to get too mad over it. ;)
Afterhours
When the park is closed, the employees play. Afterhours is a Freeplay experience in the PAIN Amusement Park. Freeplays revolve around open environment sandbox gameplay. Trophies are rewarded to players who can accomplish unique tasks within the environment. A score is calculated based on how much damage a player can create. Comical placements of props and characters have been set up for the player to interact with as they explore the environment.

Amusement Park Level Design
Pain released with only one environment to play in. With only one environment to play in, the community wanted more. We wanted the next level to have everything then first environment had and more. In order to decide on an environment, five prototypes where made. Every prototype was unique and had elements that evolved the games core mechanic. However, every prototype had animated objects that helped move you around the scene. We called this movement “Flow.” It was decided that an indoor amusement park would be the best second level to release for our community. The final level design was derived from a collected contribution of prototypes, and the entire Idol Minds development team. The level officially released in September 2008.
Some things in life can only be experienced by playing games.
Morningwood Bowling
Bigger is better when it comes to Morningwood Bowling. The distractions in this mode are just that. I had a lot of fun evolving this mode. Variety and unique distractions were key. I added animated elements, explosive projectiles, even an entire RV to the games palette. Many of the distractions where set up to resemble scenes from a Jerry Bruckheimer film, but with added comic relief. Lastly, the distractions covered all angles, making the game balanced for both the offensive and defensive players.
Uranus Assault
Ooch for your life in this Morningwood Studios Freeplay. The Alien Invaders have invaded the studio and are disgruntled for being portrayed in the movies
as obsessed probers. Players can player through the invasion by getting sucked up and spit out by tractor beams, or fight back with throw crates or tank shells. Quick, get a camera and get this level fun on film!

Sample Prototype
This is an example of one of the prototypes I created as a potential Amusement Park. Working night and day, it took me about three weeks to get running. It remains today, one of my favorite levels.PAINPrototype.htmlshapeimage_27_link_0
Fun With Explosives
This game in the PAIN Amusement Park is simple. Launch into the environment and hit as many explosives as you can. Anything that explodes counts. Being a turn based multi-player game, players compete to see who can out explode the other. Fun With Explosives is one of my favorite games in PAIN because, anyone can play it. The difficulty of the game scales with the skill of it’s players. Dynamic, fast, and comical, it’s no wonder variations of the game are implemented in almost every PAIN expansion.
Boiler Room Tales
For a design test I was asked to come up with a level and system design for the imaginary world of Boiler Room Tales. The level takes place in Baron Von Frank’s Astronomical Observatory. Multiple sections are detailed and explained in the downloadable design document that showcase a players progression throughout the level. If interested I have also added the Maya file available for download below.

RPG Fable 2 Parody
I love the Fable series and one of my favorite designers in Peter Molyneux. For fun I decided to make a short game around the idea that the player has no control over the dog. Using RPG Maker I was able to crate a few sprite sets and script out interactive events for the player to engage in.RPGMaker.htmlshapeimage_36_link_0
