People don’t give the power of sound enough credit.
Something Like That
Electronic sounds and rhythms have always been a favorite of mine. I think this comes from playing too many video games as a kid. The music in Sonic The Hedgehog is still stuck in my head. As a Sophomore at the University of Oregon, I would occasionally DJ various parties around campus. Soon I was creating and mixing my own digital sounds. Something Like That is a mixed compilation of my favorite digital creations. SLTSongs.htmlshapeimage_13_link_0
University Mix
You arrive an hour before the party. At first its nerve racking. You hope all your equipment is with you and that it works. Once everything is working, you calm down a bit. Then people start arriving, and you wonder if they’ll like your music. The stress builds. It’s time to start, so you turn up the volume. With every new beat, the stress is released and replaced with a euphoric high. Finished, you feel, content, calm, and ready for the afterparty.UniversityMix.htmlshapeimage_15_link_0
Maru Mix
My favorite mix. While I don’t mix at parties anymore, ever so often I still get the urge to mix. The Maru Mix was a result of one of those urges. The mix is composed of some of the best in Trance. I created it in the Fall of 2007.

Retro Mix
I think my graduating class was one of the last to enjoy 80s music. You just don’t hear much of it anymore. This mix has something for everyone. You never know when a 80s party is going to break out. Therefore, I keep this mix online for those rare times when there is internet, but no 80s music.

Back To The Books
My short animated film, Back To The Books, is about the frustrations of learning. This message is enhanced through the music by slightly offsetting the timing of each note. The end result gives the score an elementary rhythm and feeling.BTTBScore.htmlshapeimage_21_link_0
CUT
To enhance the mood of my eery 8mm experimental film, I put together a compilation of uncomfortable sounds. It may not be something you listen too everyday, but I find this score especially useful on Halloween.CUTScore.htmlshapeimage_23_link_0
