A Great Walk
Mark Twain once said, “Golf is a good walk spoiled.” Most of the time it is, but that doesn’t stop me from hitting the links. No matter how much I play, it still amazes my how golf can be either the most frustrating or relaxing individual experiences.
I took a vacation up to Oregon this summer to celebrate my Grandpas 90th birthday. While in town I was able to meet up with my Brother and his Brothers for a round of golf. Short on time we decided to try our luck at one of the local executive golf course. After cracking open a few beers and smashing our opening drives, we talked about the days new and old between shots.
My brother Bryan, the one dressed to impress with his Nike T-shirt, talked about getting ready to enter the MBA program at the University of Washington. He has been working hard to get into the program and I am very proud of him for his continued persistence and final acceptance into the academic program.
Andy, the one to the far left of the picture, told stories about his experience as a sophomore at the University of Oregon. He will be starting his Junior year in the fall. Things are going well for him and he is having a blast with his fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon. His stories made me remember how much fun college can be some time. (Phi Alpha Andy)
John, who is to the left of Me in the picture, has been spending his university days in Scotland. He will be graduating this year. Once attending Duke, he decided to study abroad. While on that Journey he found the perfect place to focus on academics and grow as an individual. That place is Scotland. Besides his university experiences he made reference to his first published academic web article. It is a very well researched paper that I recommend everyone read.

With all the talk, we didn’t even keep score. Everyone had their share of hits and misses on the course, but it didn’t matter. This walk was exactly what makes you forget about all the spoiled ones. This was not just a good walk, it was a great walk.
Cheers!
:)
