205
Basic Design was one of my first art classes. One of the projects asked for the creation of a miniature set that would be used in a film. Space as a visual language was explored over narrative. Using, texture, light, and ambient sound, I created a decrepit motel room. 205, a film about space, was the result.
Back To The Books
While learning computer graphics, I decided to use 3D as a medium to tell a short story. When I got lost, or something didn’t work, I hit the books. Back To The Books is a story based on the frustration and excitement that one experiences when using computer graphics. Unhappy with the final cut, I went back to my books. Finishing the project, I learned a great deal about what goes into using 3D as a medium for telling a story.
Maletis Vineyards
My half brother Bryan, loves wine. He’s always talked about opening a winery one day. Remembering this I decided to make a fake commercial, as a holiday gift, about his future winery. The video opens with glasses falling from the sky. These glasses represent competing wines. All the glasses fall from the scene except for one. This glass lingers and gracefully drops in time. The scene fades into a watercolor of the Maletis Vineyard estate followed by a voiceover that says, “Maletis Vineyards, always good to the last drop.”
